return to topHow can Lunar Properties sell Lunar Land Claims?
Lunar Properties is not selling land on Moon, we are selling the novelty registration of a claim for Moon land with the International Celestial Lands Registry™, our proprietary database. When you buy land on the Moon, you are registering a claim for moon land; or in simpler terms, you are adopting an area on the surface of the Moon for you or someone special in your life. You will be able to point to this area and know you have registered it with the International Celestial Lands Registry™ for you or someone special in your life, which will be printed and maintained by Lunar Properties™. In addition to registering your Lunar land claim with our proprietary database, Lunar Properties will file your claim for Moon land with the United Nations and will act as a powerful lobbyist for our customers by using a portion of our profits to help develop and shape future lunar land ownership rights and laws. Through this process, Lunar Properties™ will attempt to have each and every one of our members Moon land claims upheld as legal claims, hence the slogan, "Lunar Properties will work to propel your Lunar Land Claim from Novelty to Reality™".
Beware: There are other companies out there proclaiming they own the Moon outright. Common sense would indicate these companies are making fraudulent statements. Lunar Properties™ believes we possess as much ownership rights to the surface of the Earth's Moon as any other entity or individual, and Lunar Properties has just as much right to sell Claims for property on the Moon as anyone else. As such, when you buy land on the Moon from Lunar Properties, you are really purchasing (i) a registration in our proprietary database of a claim to a specified lot/s on the surface of Earth's Moon, and (ii) all of Lunar Properties™ rights, title and interest in and to such lot by quitclaim registration, but only to the extent such ownership rights may exist.
As for someone saying they own the Moon because they were the first to make such a claim, that is simply a false proclamation. Individual claims for ownership of land on Moon date back to the early 1900s (click the link below for more information on these early lunar claims).
http://www.google.com/archivesearch?hl=en&q=moon+ownership+claim&um=1&ie...
Still, others claim they are raising money in order to build a permanent Lunar settlement. NASA estimates it will cost over $100 Billion for the U.S. to send 4 Astronauts to the Lunar surface for a 7 day stay. The building and manning of Lunar settlements by private entities is unattainable at this point in time.
Lunar Properties makes none of these wild claims. Our mission is to focus our efforts into helping build and develop ownership Laws for land on moon in a way that will benefit our customers; hence the slogan, “Lunar Properties will work to propel your Lunar Land Claim from Novelty to Reality™”.
Is the International Celestial Registry™ recognized by the United Nations or the United States Government?
No. The International Celestial Lands Registry™ and Lunar Properties™ are private companies that provide interesting and fun novelty gift packages. Lunar Properties™ will maintain records of all registered claims for land on the moon through The International Celestial Lands Registry™.
return to topWhat are the current laws regarding the ownership of land on the moon?
Currently, laws regarding ownership of land on the Moon are being debated by scientific and international entities with no clear rules or regulation. The United Nations International Space Law Treaty proclaims the moon cannot be owned by any ONE State or person. The problem with this treaty is that it was only signed by a handful of member nations, and only ONE of the nations that signed this treaty (India) has an active space program with an interest in returning to the Moon. In fact, this treaty was rejected by both Russia and the United States and it was never ratified.
The debate over who ownes the Moon could go on for decades, with no clear direction, until permanent human outposts on the lunar surface become a near term reality. Any future internationally recognized rules or laws regarding lunar ownership of land on moon, will most likely render all previous claims for moon land null and void, and those companies that have professed they had the legal right to sell actual parcels of land on the moon will undoubtedly find themselves in court, defending their fraudulent actions.

Is Lunar Properties™ planning to settle the moon?
No. Lunar Properties™ does not believe it is currently possible for any private entity to build their own rocket ships with the hope of placing humans on the moon. The notion that any private group of individuals would be able to accomplish such a task is mere fantasy, and any claims that lead you to believe any private group could carry out this task would be bordering on fraud. NASA has projected it would cost in excess of $100+ Billion U.S. Dollars for one return mission to the lunar surface. This U.S. mission is currently planned for 2020, and would only land 4 humans on the Moon for a short 7 day stay.
As you can see, the current cost of space technology and logistics will prohibit all but the most technologically advanced and wealthy nations from returning to the moon anytime soon. In fact, the costs associated with placing a permanent settlement on the Moon are so high that international cooperation may be required to accomplish this goal (The International Space Station is a prime example of international cooperation in space). The more missions flown and more Lunar infrastructure built, the cheaper it will be for humans to land on moon. It will take decades, and maybe as long as a century before advanced technology reduces these costs to a level that would allow private entities the opportunity to land on the moon without the help of a group of International Governments.
return to topHow does Lunar Properties™ plan to place its customers Lunar Land Claims on the Surface of the Moon?
Lunar Properties cannot promise this service to our customers that buy land on the moon at this time because there are no "Immediate" planned missions to land on moon, and even when there are more "immediate" planned missions, there are no guarantees Lunar Properties will have access to such missions. What Lunar Properties™ does promise is that we will solicit other nations and private companies who have future plans of returning to the moon, in an attempt to pay for the service of having our customers claims deposited on the Lunar surface by one of these nations or companies. Lunar Properties™ believes this is the most economical and efficient way to carry out this task.
Currently, at least 5 Countries are planning future missions to the moon; The United States, China, Japan, Russia, and India. Russia seems a reasonable first choice for this service, as they are currently booking space tourists for trips to the International Space Station for a mere $30 Million each. As of January 2008, Russia has already sent 5 space tourists to the International Space Station. If, and when, Russia returns to the moon, it is reasonable to believe they would consider depositing our customer's claims on the lunar surface for a fee. Lunar Properties™ will work on behalf of our customer's to lobby countries like Russia, in our attempts to carry out this service, at no extra cost.
Another option for depositing our customers claims on the Lunar surface, is contracting a San Diego based private company called TransOrbital Incorporated. TransOrbital Incorporated is planning unmanned missions to the moon with the hope of being "the first delivery service to the moon". TransOrbital's Trailblazer is currently offering the ability to carry earth items into lunar orbit and/or having items deposited on the lunar surface, for a fee. Although TransOrbital Inc. has made one successful rocket launch into low earth orbit back in December of 2002, they have not followed that achievement with any other launches. In fact, TransOrbital Inc. has displayed a history of missing projected launch dates (which is not uncommon in space flight as NASA often misses projected targets). TransOrbital Inc. has made previous launch projections for late 2001, with a moon shot by late October 2003, followed by an estimate of delivering a satellite to land on moon by 2004, then pushing the launch date to December 2005, with the latest projection of launching a rocket to the moon by late 2008. In fact, there were no projected launch dates given on the TransOrbital web site the last time we checked, and it has been approximately 6 years since their last launch. TransOrbital Incorporated may be a viable option for taking our customers claims to the lunar surface in the future, but because of their history of delays, Lunar Properties™ believes it would be more realistic to work with other nations in order to carry out this service.
